India’s First Selfieclass
There are two types of people in this world. One who support you when you start something new or unique and other who completely write you off, try to pull you down, discourage you and go to any limits to mock you. It is due to the second lot of people that I became even more determined to go ahead with my plan of organizing a selfie workshop at LJIMC Ahmedabad. To the utter disappointment of the second lot, I can proudly claim that this idea proved to be a successful one.
Firstly LJIMC Ahmedabad supported my idea wholeheartedly and provided space and resources to conduct this workshop, and then the students put faith in my idea by registering themselves and then came the biggest encouragement in the form of OPPO. From selfie-sticks to giving out smart phones to the winners and having their best OPPO N3 for the practical sessions, it has truly been a learning experience with Team OPPO. I explored Oppo N3 to the fullest and I must say it’s an amazing handset. When you have 16MP motorized rotating camera that can be rotated up to 206 degrees with the tap of a button or touch of a fingerprint sensor located at the back of the phone, what else is required to be a perfect Selfiegrapher?
Yeah OPPO N3 the FIRST motorized rotating camera in cell phone industry is simply awesome.
Moving ahead, this workshop explored various topics like history, lights, angles, Psychological aspect, practical sessions and a lot more and undoubtedly the credit goes to Dr.Hansal Bhachech: a renowned psychiatrist and author of western India & Mr.Ketan Modi: A renowned photographer.
Within no time, the acceptability of the idea started spreading and making its mark in the media all over. Be it print, Electronic or Digital Media, all gave an overwhelming response by providing coverage in all forms.
I must Thank DNA, Ahmedabad Mirror, The Hindu, VTV Gujarati, Etv Gujarati News – CNN IBN (Network18), India TV, Aaj Tak, NDTV, News Nation, News24 who enthusiastically came to cover this workshop.
Those who could not attend the workshop remained connected with it by uploading their selfies on the FB Event page and winning selfie sticks in return.
I cannot forget to mention Abhishek Jain who graced the workshop as a special guest.
Preety, an OPPO Smartphone winner liked the personal attention and detailed analysis of her work during this workshop. While Nisargi felt excited on learning how to narrate a story through selfie.
The satisfactory feedback of the students brings a smile of contentment on my face:)
All I would like to conclude with is that when a new idea originates, it draws criticism from all corners but if you have faith in an idea very soon the criticism will change into congratulations.
I happily declare that I am Selfie-ish!! 😉
