Aditi and Selfie are almost synonymous to each other, and so if it’s my birthday party, there could have been no better name of the event than “Selfiecious Birthday Party.” As all my digital friends know, I am extremely active on social media. Post I left radio; I increased my presence digitally but have not been able to meet people in person. So on this Birthday I thought of coming up with a unique concept. I decided to invite my 100 virtual friends/fans to meet me actually. This was the first time ever when a known personality has thrown a party exclusively for his/her virtual friends.

Virtual Friends uploaded their 30-35 secs videos wherein I had asked them few questions related to me. Those who answered them correctly and differently bagged a chance to attend my party which was held at The Dugout Café. I’m thankful to the owners of The Dugout Café : Manan Dave and Raghuvanshi Siddhartha for providing me space for the entire evening which turned this occasion into a super special one. Along with them I would like to thank my food partner Shivam Shah (FitMeals Ahmedabad) for serving healthy and delicious delicacies to my guests. I really appreciate the presence and efforts of both the Harsh’s. Exclusive Photography done by Harsh Patel (MJClickography) & Exclusive Cinematography done by Harsh Jani Pictures along with my 100 Virtual Friends were my few close friends and local, regional & national celebrities.

I loved the theme idea of my party given by Five Force Event Management owner Varun Sutaria. The theme décor of the party was a digital one. The stage had my various collages. There was an Instagram cut out of my name as well. The party began with an interactive session with my virtual friends where they asked me various questions and cleared their doubts about what I do? This was followed by a musical performance by singer Nikita Ahuja, Kushal Chokshi (The Voice fame) and a piano performance by Raj Boriwala.

Along with the virtual friends, the celebs also kept adding. Prem Gadhavi & Ojas Rawal who had their movie Polampol’s premier lined up that day, also took some time off and enthralled the audience with their impromptu stand-up comedy. Jaydev Unadkut, a leading cricketer and a favorite of all cricket lovers, specially came down from Vadodara to attend the party. RJ Harshil, RJ Aseem, RJ Radhika, Chhelo Divas fame Mayur Chauhan, Netri Trivedi, Aarjav Trivedi, Meet Jain (The Voice fame) & Mayur Narvekar (Bandish Projekt) were the other celebrities who graced the event. Cake cutting was followed by dinner.

As conveyed to the virtual friends, the idea of the birthday celebration was to not accept any gifts. Instead I had asked people to donate the amount they had intended to spend in charity. The motto behind this was to spread smile on 500 other faces. Udaan-NGO supported me in my initiative.

I must admit my virtual friends have never disappointed me. Few of them specially came down from Palanpur, Himmatnagar, Surat, Amreli, Ankleshwar, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Bharuch and Rajkot. They lived up to my expectations twice on that day.

1. By reaching the venue and celebrating my birthday with me
2. By donating open heartedly

We managed to collect decent amount of money.  As committed I spent time with the Variously challenged GIRLS at  Manthan Apang Kanya Seva Sankul in Kalol on 14th FebruaryIt was an all together different experience  where the kids also presented a dance and showered their love on me. Their white board had wishes for me written by them.

Valentine Day could never have been so much better than this one. Only kids can show such unconditional love and I enjoyed every moment of my presence over there. The icing on the cake that day was distributing food packets to the street kids on IIM Road. I would specially like to thank ‘Udaan – The Joy of Giving’ –  an NGO which associated with me and helped me see this brighter side of life. A Big Thank you to Netri Trivedi (Chhello Divas fame Actress) for joining me in this initiave.

Post this activity I can confidently say that any occasion, be it Birthday or Valentine’s Day, can be celebrated with Not just a chosen few but with people at large who value your time and presence more than your money
